Question MarkHave Questions? We Have Answers!

What is the difference between the Focus and Inspired Life Series?

The difference between our two series is essentially the amount of time involved. Our traditional Focus Series is made of up three separate weekends (Focus 1, Focus 2 and Momentum), whereas the Inspired Life Series involves only two (Inspired Life Weekend and Momentum). Inspired Life was developed by combining the processes of Focus 1 and Focus 2. While some exercises have been combined and/or modified to account for the limited time involved, the exercises from both F1 and F2 have been incorporated into ILW. Participants can also expect the weekend to transpire at a much faster pace during ILW, again due to the limited time frame. Momentum, the final weekend of either series, is the same process regardless of the series attended.

Which series should I attend?

Our answer to this question is simply this: the one you can attend. Experts agree and studies show that time and repetition are essential components of learning. Attending the Focus Series, investing in yourself and revisiting concepts over the course of a month and a half follows this proven model. However, we understand that the demanding schedules of professionals in today's society do not always allow for flexibility necessary to attend all three weekends. It is for this reason the Inspired Life Series was created.

What if I cannot attend all the weekends of the series I register for?

While we strongly encourage participants to finish with the same group they start with, we understand that schedules and unexpected circumstances do not always agree. While the weekends of each series do need to be attended in consecutive order (Focus1 then Focus 2 then Momentum OR ILW then Momentum, depending on the series attended), it is possible to move a participant to complete their training at a later date, as long as a seat is available in that class. For example, if a situation were to occur between F1 and F2, F2 and Momentum or ILW and Momentum, we can reschedule the participant to the next F2 or Momentum. If such a situation occurs, the participant would need to contact the front office in order for arrangements to be made.

What is the time schedule for each day of the weekends?

The schedules for each series are listed below. Please keep in mind that times are approximate as there are certain exercises that can end earlier or later than expected, depending on class size. Occasionally, the time a day begins will vary, depending on the discretion of the trainer that weekend.

What is the class size?

Typically, the class size ranges anywhere from 30 to 54 participants, plus 8 to 12 Training Assistants (TAs) who help facilitate the exercises during the weekend. 54 is the maximum class size the room can accommodate.

What dynamics can I expect during the weekends?

A participant can expect various dynamics throughout the weekends, regardless of the series attended. There will be exercises that involve the large group. Others will take place in small group settings of five to six people. There will also be some one-on-one exercises with another participant and some individual.

Will I be expected to speak in front of the large group?

We understand that public speaking is not comfortable or easy for everyone. While there are some exercises that involve the entire group, participants have the choice to contribute as much or as little as they would like. We do encourage participants to step out of their comfort zone and participate in large group exercises because the more an individual contributes to the process, the more they will learn and receive in return.

Alumni I have spoken with have seemed very secretive about what transpires during the seminar. Why is this?

We do require strict confidentiality from both our trainers & participants. The purpose of this is two-fold: 1. We want to create a safe environment for people to experience the training & be able to participate 100%. All trainers & participants are free to share what they have learned from their own experiences, however, agree to not share anything others have shared. 2. We want to maintain the spontaneity of the process. In other words, we don’t want participants to come in scripted so they can receive the most from their training. If you would like a general break down of what will be covered during each weekend, please feel free to contact the office & we would be happy to provide you with that information, however, we will not release the specifics of each exercise.

What if I know someone in the seminar I attend?

Occasionally, participants may know each other prior to the start of the seminar they are both attending. This would not be a hindrance by any means if such a thing were to occur with you & another participant. While there would be large group exercises you would participate in together, you would never be in the same small group or one-on-one exercise with each other.

How much does each series cost?

The total cost for either series is $2,385. This includes either all three weekends of the Focus Series or the two weekends of the Inspired Life Series. Please do not let the cost deter you. Payment options are available and we have special promotions for each training. Please contact the front office to see if there are any current offers and/or discounts available for the training you would like to attend.

Are there payment options or financing available to attend?

As of 2007, we no longer have financing available through Wells Fargo due to a change in their policies. We do not want cost to be the barrier that would prevent you from attending, thus we do have payment options available. Please contact the front office for further information.

I will be traveling in from out of town to attend. Is there anywhere you recommend I stay?

The Marriott Courtyard South in Kansas City, MO is approximately 5 minutes away from our building & we recommend those accommodations for our out of town participants. For reservation, please contact the Marriott at 816-941-3333. Please note, participants will only receive a discounted rate for staying at this hotel during a Focus 2 session.

During Focus 2 or the Inspired Life Weekend I have heard we have to stay in a nearby hotel. Is this true? Would I have to if I live locally?

We do strongly encourage participants to stay at the Marriott Courtyard South during either Focus 2 or the Inspired Life Weekend, however it is not required. There are participants that live locally that choose to stay at home during those weekends due to either personal or financial reasons. We challenge you to look at staying at the hotel as a “get to” rather than a “have to.” You will find tremendous value in giving yourself the opportunity to separate yourself from the distractions that may find you at home. In doing so, you’ll only enhance your experience in this process.

Are you a religiously affiliated seminar?

We have no affiliations with any religious organizations, nor do we enforce any religious beliefs on participants during the seminar. It is important to note that we do have participants from diverse faith backgrounds that attend & it is not uncommon for them to reference their faith during the seminar. We are a popular referral source for those involved in the Clergy, Protestant, Catholic & Jewish communities. We have had pastors, priests, nuns, monks & rabbis attend in the 25 years we have been conducting our seminars. All have reported that they felt their faith was respected in the training. Those that have attended that do not participate in practicing any sort of faith also found themselves comfortable with some spiritual aspects contained within the seminar.

What is your cancellation/refund policy?

Cancellation Policy:  Over 14 days advance notice – 100% Refund; 14-7 days advance notice – 80% refund; less than 7 days advance notice – 50% refund.  If unable to attend or unable to complete the scheduled seminar, 100% of payment will be held and applied to attend another seminar, up to one year from date of payment.

There is a 100% Money Back Guarantee. This is ONLY Valid after participant has completed the entire 3 weekend series & is dissatisfied with personal results. Participant is to express dissatisfaction to the Trainer at the conclusion of the final weekend in order to be eligible.
